The Dream Machine
Generation Minus One Catching up on the in-jokes you missed first time around.
Who are you and what are you doing in my house?
Generation Minus One is a weekly gaming comic, proprietors: Jenny & Rob.
Jenny Sargent is an artist and student of Ancient History, hailing from New Jersey. In a startling reverse of the trajectory
of her forefathers, she migrated from the shores of the US of A to the gleaming emerald isle of Great Britain, where she draws comics beneath looming skies bedecked with stormclouds.

Rob Haines is a writer, programmer, marine biologist, and jack-of-
all-trades. Having fled west from the English city of Gloucester, he now lives in a converted chapel atop a Welsh hill with Jenny.

Also, we are masters of unlocking.
Why 'Generation Minus One'?
For a pair of twenty-something gamers living in the twenty-first century, trying to make a living from our various creative projects, it's become increasingly impossible to
keep up with the slew of great games, especially when a single title can set you back £50 or more. As a result we've become reliant on those games of yesterday which slipped through the net; titles which span the gulf between cutting edge and retro.

We want Generation Minus One to be more than just a three-panel gag strip; we may not have the time nor the resources to become a major gaming hub, but we want to be known for interesting articles, industry discussion, retrospectives on classic titles, the occasional podcast, and as a base for a number of full-length comic projects currently in development. We intend Generation Minus One to be a gallery for the best of our artwork and writing, and we would be honoured if you'd accompany us on this journey.
Who does what around here?
Jenny’s responsible for the artistic side of the site (for the limits of Rob's stellar artwork, see Comics 58 and 32), and Rob’s here to write thoughtful articles (which if left to Jenny would consist of strings of profanity and poop jokes). Rob's also in charge of design and upkeep for the G-1 website - anything requiring straight lines and text manipulation, since Jenny would rather stick a screwdriver in her eye.
Otherwise, we share the duties of maintaining the website, gaming (for research purposes, you understand), and developing the comics. It’s a collaborative process; playing around with ideas, jokes, lines of dialogue, and bickering ‘til we’re blue in the face until we come up with something vaguely resembling humor humour humor.
When do you update?
We post a new comic every Monday, along with news and articles when we have something interesting to say. We're also working on larger-scale comic projects which we'll post in addition to the weekly comics whenever they're ready.
Are you available to do commissions?
If you're interested in commissioning a piece of artwork, please send us an email.
Where else can you be found online?
Jenny can usually be found procrastinating on Twitter, and any projects or doodles that don’t make it to Gen-1 can be found at her Deviant Art gallery.

Rob can usually be found lurking around his writing blog, and will soon be blogging and podcasting about French cuisine and his latest writing project, Postcards from Lepari, here.

Of course, you can always follow us on Twitter, @rob_haines and @jenny_sargent.
Why didn't my comment show up?
Despite the level of profanity occasionally employed in the comic (not to mention real life), we're generally polite, moderate people. We also have a distinct dislike for douchebags. (Not to mention an abnormal adoration of alliteration.) We're not going to censor (in)appropriate use of language, but we don't take kindly to people being insensitive dicks on our site. There are plenty of petty kingdoms on them interwebs where that sort of thing's encouraged. This is not one of them.

To keep things friendly we reserve the right to moderate comments; sometimes this means a comment may take a while to go up. If it doesn't appear at all, take a step back and ask yourself whether your comment may have contained crapulent corpuscles of cockery.
